Memorial Day 2008 Super Meme

Mary McKnight is on a mission and as much a pain in the behind as I find these Memes to be, I will do it just because Mary told me to (There's a joke around the blogosphere where we call Mary Mother Superior because she is the "all-knowing" and some of us are scared of her.....sort of....she also knows we love her).
So this is the scoop:
There are two me-s in meme because it's all about me. Meme's are the perfect way to let other bloggers know about you, let your audience know about you and get to know and relate to other bloggers, expand your network and watch your sphere of influence expand outwards. If you ever posed the question to yourself, "how many degrees are between me and Kevin Bacon?" this is the way to find out.
I am asking 8 questions because when tipped over the number 8 is the infinity symbol and that is totally geeky and 8 is my favorite number and it is 2008. Oh, how the stars have aligned!
1. Who is your favorite musical artist? (post a youtube video)
This was not an easy question to answer because anyone that knows me KNOWS I love music and dancing. So I picked something a bit International to keep with the spirit of Miamism. Juan Luis Guerra (The Dominican Legend who makes anyone get down) and Mana (the Latin Pop Rock band). This song gives me chills and it translates as "Bless the light".
2. Who is your favorite artist (post a flicker photo)
I just realized why I don't like these memes.....I have to pick ONE! Well....Marc Chagall inspires me (composition, naive nature.....one of THE masters).

3. Who is your favorite blogger?
You are going to think I'm crazy, but I absolutely love Magnificent Bastard (and Rick is better dressed today because of it) - now If I could only find the woman's version of it.
4. If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?
It wouldn't be a celebrity or a political figure, you may think the "childish" side of me is coming out when I say I would have loved to meet my Grandmother Pilar, but it goes beyond family ties. I have always felt a deep bond with this grandmother I did not meet. A lot of people say I have many of her qualities. Maybe it's the extra-sensory perception I inherited.
5. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Off the top again, I wanted to be a bio-medical engineer to design therapy machines and work-out equiptment. I began studying civil engineering and realized I was too creative and changed to architecture. There's a part of me that always wonders what if I had moved to California to study Bio-medical engineering at CalTech.
6. What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?
I am not at all a trivia junkie but I have to tell you that I revert this question to Mary's answer because I am still in shock (and laughing at the same time)....is this considered cheating?
The legend of Pope Joan
This weird legend (regarded as false by most historians) resulted in a tradition I lovingly term "grope the pope" where Bishops are required to feel the Pope's testicles before he ascends to the Papacy to verify his manhood.
7. If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?
The Stone age wins!! Imagine our savage needs coming alive to create and survive.
8. What is the most interesting job you have ever held?
Right now, beats the others hands down, even with architects' battle of egos. Being a Realtor you are exposed to all kinds of different phases of humanity, you work as a consultant, counselor and are disrespected by many. The things we see on a daily basis can knock you silly. It is never boring, that's for sure.
The 8 people I memed
(which means they are required by meme law to answer and ask 8 other people to answers these same questions on their blogs!):
Larry Yatkowsky: Yatter Matters
Lani Anglin-Rosales: RE Revealed
Daniel Rothamel: Real Estate Zebra
Paul Chaney: Conversational Media Marketing
Rick: South Florida Daily Blog
Rudy Bachraty: Trulia's Social Media Guru
HeadMutha - muthahood aint for sissies
(you can all thank me later)
**and somehow this thing keep on going like the energizer bunny!! Thanks Jeremy Hart from NRV Living for tagging me again!**
Great Meme, Ines!
Have you read the book Pope Joan? I'll send you my copy if you want -- Just tweet and let me know! :)
lol, that Ringo clip looks more like a camping trip from the 60's with a supply of magic mushrooms...
Wow, learned a lot here! I am still spending time over on Magnificent Bastard! Thanks for making this so much fun! I know it was a totally lame thing to do on a holiday- but I thought- "hey... the blog world has not been rocked by a meme recently and there are plenty of new bloggers to meet!"
Ines - loved your meme - we also love that you turned us on to the Magnificent Bastard - gotta love the internet :) - Hope you and Rick had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend!!
Laurie - it's funny you say that because I thought the same thing.....maybe the 60's and the stoneage have a lot in comon! LOL
Irina - awesome merengues from Juan Luis Guerra, and the ESP I just try to ignore....although it catches up to me sometimes. :)
Mary - the thoughts when I read your e-mail were not good ones, but once you start reading, you realize it's an awesome idea. Now watch your back! we're coming after you.
Hi Cyndee - MB is a trip - today I took a picture of my brother-in-law to send to him for an opinion....we'll see what he says. Hope you had a great one as well.
"The STONE AGE"??
You cheated??? ;-)
;-)
Nice job on the meme, Ines. Glad I found your blog because of this crazy chain. :-)
Nick - that's the whole point with these, on the surface they look pointless, but it drives new traffic to your site as well as helps you discover new bloggers. Thanks.
Oh boy I need to get working on mine ( I guess...LOL) they are fun to read!
Re-tag.
Wow, doesn't sound like fun for the Pope OR the Bishop that has to do the "verifying".
