Miami Shores Marshmallow Drop

By: Ines Hegedus-Garcia on March 25, 2008

This year’s Marshmallow Drop in Miami Shores was a bit overcast but it didn’t hold anyone back. The kids had a blast and the community spirit was everywhere. The Miami Shores Marshmallow Drop consists of a helicopter dropping thousands of marshmallows on the Recreation Fields from the sky while anxious onlookers wait for the signal to run to pick them up. You can exchange the marshmallows you pick up for a goodie bag and if you find a “Golden Marshmallow”, you will get a big prize.

This is one of my favorite events because you see kids all ages having fun – from the barely walking to older ones who say they are doing it for their younger siblings (yeah right).

Historically, March and April are the busiest months of the year when it comes to Miami Shores Real Estate. These are the months where houses go under contract to appear as “closed sales” in May and June. If you are a seller, make sure your house shows in tip-top condition because this may be your opportunity.
