Everyone has to try Joe's Stone Crabs at least once! Joe's is located in South Beach (actually SoFi) at 11 Washington Avenue - Miami Beach, FL 33139 and their number is 305.673.0365 (make sure you call them to find out if they are in season).
Joe's is definitely .....another MIAMISM!!

Went to Joe's Stone Crab in March for my "one time" and that's where it will stay!! I thought it was a mad-house of insanity! waaay too many employees jumping around tables crammed together and just no atmosphere I'd voluntarily go to.
I got the impression they stopped trying a long time ago. The food was substandard!! I thought it was like Cafeteria food! I realize they are on the beach and the costs are higher.. but, I would expect the food to be up to the standard of the price..not good.. too many other choices in this town.

Nick - it's one of those "HAVE TO TRY PLACES" when you come to Miami
Al - I am so sorry to hear about your experience. Funny enought, my parents just went this past week and they also had a substandard experience and had to send lobster back twice for being overcooked. Joe's is one of those Miami Restaurants that has a great reputation for being a "Miamism" but they definitely have to pay attention to feedback before they become a "has-been". Thanks for your honesty btw.
Cyndee - make sure you have your pocketbook ready - Joe's is one of those prime places!
