As a tribute to the way my kids feel about going back to school, I decided to share this amazing capture by Diego Quiros (dkeros on Flickr). Although I feel the total opposite… it’s great to see the energy in Miami change when schools start – from traffic patterns to shopping establishments.
About the photo: If you are not familiar with Coral Gables’ entrances, you should be. Conceptualized by Merrick when developing Coral Gables as entrances to The City Beautiful – with old Spanish Mediterranean theme in mind, to welcome you to his world. This photo was taken by Diego at Granada Entrance.
….another Miamism !!

LOL. I have a toddler who just started pre-school. The only thing missing from the picture you posted are the tears gushing in streams.

The time has come and it’s finally back to school for the kids. I don’t know how the teachers deal with everything. Here in Florida the schools are so under staffed the teachers don’t even have aids for the kindergarten and first graders. Now this year some of the schools are actually asking for parents to provide toilet paper as school supplies. And what happened to all this money the lottery was going to provide?
Well it’s finally back to school for the kids. I don’t know how the teachers deal with everything. Here in Florida the schools are so under budget and staffed the teachers don’t even have teacher aids for the kindergarten and first graders. I couldn’t believe it when I read that this year some of the local schools are actually asking for parents to send toilet paper as school supplies. All we can do is hope for the best at this point.
