The annual St. Rose of Lima Carnival came and went like a flash! It’s always an amazing Miami Shores community event and was held January 23rd to the 25th. This year I took so many photos that I didn’t know what to do with them, so I included them in a slide show for you to enjoy (if you are patient).
Yes the St. Rose of Lima Carnival is a church and school sponsored function – but it is also a community event. What I find amazing is that residents get involved and volunteer no matter their religious beliefs or inclinations. It’s all about working together for a good cause and having fun while doing it. Next year around January you can expect another carnival. Rides, food, drinks and tons of community spirit.
St. Rose of Lima Carnival is located at 425 NE 105th Street in Miami Shores.
If you are interested in volunteering, make sure you call the parish office – there’s also the option of sponsoring a booth, donating items for the silent auction or just attending. I hope to see you next year at the carnival – I’ll be the annoying one with the camera! (Just ask any Miami Shores Police Officer and they will confirm)
