Description

Originally known as the Ratner Apartments and later as The Lillian, 1005 Meridian was designed by architect Gene Baylis in 1939 in Streamline Moderne style. Baylis designed many small apartment buildings in Miami Beach from the 1930's through the 1950's, then designed the Octagon Towers and Marble Terrace apartments in the 1960's.

Today this building is a contributing structure in both the local and national register of historic districts in Miami Beach.
